Such a close FP3 will probably result in a greatly contested qualy.

Lets see till then if Hamilton garners any penalty or not.

Mercedes fined, no penalty for Hamilton. Grosjean gets a 5 place penalty for a gearbox change.

Bit risky staying in the pits with the new flag rule?

I wonder if Nico will be off to see Charlie for some clarification on unsafe release rules

Is Kvyat the worst driver in Formula 1 at the moment? Haryanto has been tame in the races.

Might Hass be capable of getting through to Q3? Since Gutierrez managed 8th in Q1, hopefully one of the 2 drivers will manage to get through.

Wehrlein is going to have his career ended by Stoffel, just like Sainzs has ended Kyvats

He has had the worst luck of any driver this season. It is also normally quite hard going backwards from a good team to a car that isn't as easy to drive. Cristian Horner mentioned this.

Anyway, many drivers have poor performance at times. When he was at Red Bull, I didn't see much wrong with his driving. He just wasn't as good as Ricciardo.

Verstappen is so impressive, and he is only going to get better. The rest should be afraid I think.

I agree in essence, but his recent form has been rotten. I was asking more on current form rather than as a whole. Not a good time at all for Kyvat - no wonder he's looking forward so much to the summer break.

A tasty looking lap from Max just now in Q2... very aggressive.

Driver coaching is back, teams can't talk to drivers on the formation lap and everything is broadcasted now.

Wow that was close. Gutierrez was so close to making it to Q3. Even so, great performance from him.

Wehrlein being interviewed by SKY; he comes across as very intelligent, sensitive and perceptive. He's very interesting to listen to, I must say.

"I think I need more than a summer break [to recover myself from this poo poo season and form]... but it's OK, thanks."

Ouch. Kvyat is in a world of hurt right now. He's in the mire, though with a rather appealing salary.

Let's wait and see what happens in Q3. I've seen this before where Verstappen appears to be miles ahead in Q2 and then Ricc comes out of nowwhere and blitzes him in Q3. Dont' think it's gonna happen here but we shall see...

Rosberg is making a fine mess of this. Where did that 4 tenth gap from Friday go?

Vettel 1.2 seconds slower than Hamilton. 1.2 seconds! And slower than the Red Bulls.

And Vettel is 0.5 seconds slower than his generally "of no use" teammate Raikkonen.

I have some doubts now, does Sebastian lose motivation when he cannot fight for the win, and knows he's in a situation where his future is doomed? Things are not looking good for the forseeable future for Ferrari or Vettel.

Ricciardo almost always saves something for Q3. It's not so much as hiding, I just think he plans his runs in such a way that he peaks in Q3, using Q2 and Q1 to learn, more than other drivers.

Rosberg's third sector looked a little rough but his first two sectors looked super quick! Hamilton will have to nail all 3 sectors to beat it.
