Can completely ignore fp1.

Raikkonen ran a ridiculous line at the last corner miles away from the kerbs. Fully expect Ferrari to be at the forefront of the pole battle

Much better weather this afternoon, expect track temperature to be much higher today.

Force India have named the serrated teeth update on the Shark fin as 'Stegosaurus'!

As per the practice data, the updates are working well & will remain on the car during this weekend:

Might be handy for those who want to get a clearer picture regarding the long run lap times et in FP2:

Kindly click on Lap Times under Second Practice to download the .pdf file.

My 2 cents after going through the lap times:

1:46.xxx lap times achieved by various drivers such as Ricciardo, Vettel (initial 2 laps after he began his long run laps), Perez, Alonso (2 laps), Hulkenberg, Hamilton & Verstappen.

Looking at that list I would be wondering about fuel loads and engine settings?

To me it shows Ricciardo is quickest, then Hamilton, Verstappen and then Vettel, Bottas, Raikonnen. Hamilton seems to have better tire deg though. Ricciardo is the only guy that did high 45's, but that was very early in the stint. Towards the end of the stint Hamilton is quicker. Vettel was in the low 47s and not once did he stay in the 46s consistently. Not sure what tires they were all running though. But the consensus is that Ferrari may be on the back foot.

Very interesting, cheers

This wouldn't be too bad for Hamilton, I think going into this weekend most people thought that Vettel was going to win.

Double edge sword. If RBR stays ahead then the loss is minimal but if Ferrari jump Red Bill then the difference between 1st and 5th exaggerates a difficult weekend.
All hypothetical at this stage.

That doesn't really happen though if the Red Bull is quicker.

Yes but as you say, that's only an 'if' at this stage.

So does this now apply to Ricciardo who just hit the wall in FP3 trying to keep up with Max?

The RB is obviously very strong here but they don't have a quali mode like mercedes or ferrari, so when you factor in a a couple of tenths for that there is not all that much between them all.

Should be interesting, could still go any way IMO as Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull set their best laps at different times while the track was changing drastically.

Also I can't buy McLaren only being 5 tenths off so when the others turn the engines up things could change.

Very interesting. Four drivers in three different cars should be fighting for pole. Ferrari has recovered well, but they don't have the expected advantage.

Q1 at Singapore - one of the most congested track spaces of the season!

Best to set a time soon before anyone crashes & creates a Red flag situation.

Do williams have the worst chassis on the grid or the worst driver line up? or a combination of both?

Neither of these are really true. Thay have a chassis that works really well on certain tracks. And the drivers are sometimes not that good but Massa especially has been under rated this season. He would very likely be ahead of both Force India drivers in the championship without the amount of bad luck he has suffered. Stroll was really poor at first, but now is at leased reasonable.

McLarens are doing good as it is a chassis track. The track is evolving quickly too. Perhaps 1:40s in Q2?

Real close for them. The track evolved a lot in the last few minutes.

This is Verstappen's last chance to become the first teenager to get a pole position as he will be 20 before the next qualifying session.

That would be pretty cool!

Vandoorne's done pretty well so far. Did something happen to make him 1s quicker than Alonso?

Twice in a row McLaren makes it to Q3, in the fastest circuit and one of the slowest circuits in the calendar

Lewis needs to get Kimi here. That would be a good result, especially if Red Bull can get pole.

I don't think a lap like that can be topped. Of course the track can change, but on pure pace nobody is touching Vettel..

Very odd track and tyre situation, those first cars 1.5 seconds slower than Q2.

Its beatable, its 0.150, thats nothing on a 100 second lap. But somebody might go in the wall trying

Wonder if Seb has done damage to his car?

Of course, but in a short starting track like this, unless Vettel makes a mistake at the start he should be able to retain his position leaving turn 1.
