2017 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX RESULTSThis race is really a story of what could have been, in terms of scoring.
There could have been variance among the picks for the winner: there wasn't. Every single entrant picked Lewis Hamilton to win, so that tells you something about the scoring right there. Someone could have had Ricciardo on their podium and picked up the win that way, but - despite him having more podiums than anyone but the championship contenders - no one did. A few people bought into the Verstappen hype train and put him on the podium, but his race was over long before he had any chance to make a claim at that third spot.
In the end, the winners were determined by having gone for Vettel in second. Of those winners, three were on course to have a perfect podium if Bottas had stayed in third, two of them would have had a perfect podium if Raikkonen had taken third instead, and one of them would have had it if it had just been the other Bull that took third. But none of those happened, so we have just two different scores for this race; 8 and 5.

As expected, movement in the standings was minimal this round. Being among those who picked the correct top two allows Icemanjee1 and Black_Flag_11 to slip past Herb, demoting him to fourth in the process. Fifth and sixth places stay with TheDamus and TypingChicane, respectively, while Exediron moves up to seventh. Jezza13 remains in eighth behind, and Bentrovato in ninth. The tie for tenth is joined now by Fountoukos13, rounding out the 'top ten' along with Jenson's Understeer and Mayhem.
Outside the top ten, Remmirath loses a place to the growing tie, falling to thirteenth. A share in the joint win allows Lotus49 to jump theferret and cm97 for fourteenth, with the two of them falling into fifteenth and sixteenth behind. With Ruste13 recording a fourth DNS on the season, defending champion robins13 is finally no longer in last place, also recording his first win of the (rather dismal, by his standards!) season.

24 PointsWith everyone scoring at least 5 points, every team scored at least 10. Despite that, there were still some moves:
Jalopy Racing stays on top for now, but their margin has shrunk to just 5 points to McLotus. Drive Sauber falls from third all the way to sixth due to not having a share in the round win, showing just how tight the field is this year. They are replaced by defending team champions Mind Your Manors, the only team to score a win with both drivers. Also jumping them are Bernie's Bwoah - by one point - and the 2016 champs, No Limit Excedrin Racing, who get past on a tie.
Behind them, Massa Attack and Sand Bag'n hold position in seventh and eighth, with Sand Bag'n gaining incrementally.

67 PointsThe field remains incredibly tight; a single perfect podium could see anyone from 9th place on assuming the lead, and a double perfect podium could put any team in first place. Predictable winners and surprises lower down the podium have generally led to flat scoring; will the same hold true in Monza, where just about everyone seems certain Mercedes will hold a huge advantage?
And when will people finally start putting Ricciardo on their podiums?
